Our History

 

1976

Together, Barbara Bernabel, a mental health advocate, and Midge Becker, an advocate for individuals with disabilities, founded the Southern Nevada Association for the Handicapped, a Nevada non-profit corporation.

1981

Vance Triggs, a State Assemblyman and a Disability Rights Advocate, formed the Nevada Association for the Handicapped.

1983

Merger of the Southern Nevada Association for the Handicapped and the Nevada Association for the Handicapped.

 

2001

Name change from Nevada Association of the Handicapped to Endeavor.

2002

Endeavor entered into a contract with Easter Seals, Inc. to provide services in Southern Nevada and changed its name from Endeavor to Easter Seals of
Southern Nevada.

2011

Easter Seals of Southern Nevada amended its contract with Easter Seals, Inc. to provide services statewide and changed its name to Easter Seals Nevada.

 

2019

Easter Seals Nevada returns to its roots as a Nevada Based organization and changed its name to Capability Health & Human Services.
