Movin’ With Capability

Capability Health & Human Services Announces “Movin’ with Capability” Fundraiser for March.

LAS VEGAS
 – Capability Health & Human Services will be kicking off an exciting new fundraising initiative this March in honor of Disability Awareness Month. For the entire month, supporters are asked to get “Movin’ with Capability” as they walk, run, bike, or roll.

Registration is FREE and can be completed online at CapabilityHealth.org/Movin-With-Capability. There is no requirement as to how many miles you must go or how much money you need to raise. Participants are encouraged to share their fundraising goal and promote their involvement through social media channels – helping raise awareness and funds for the nonprofit. Additionally, there will be prizes for participants who raise the most money across all categories.

“We are thrilled to be introducing a new way for staff, clients, and friends to give back to Capability Health,” states Lisa Manning, President and CEO. “Capability Health has been helping people with disabilities in Nevada for almost 50 years and the need for our services continues to grow. Funds raised through “Movin’ with Capability” will be essential to our life-enhancing services.”

“Movin’ with Capability” is a month-long event where participants will get moving – by running, walking, biking, or rolling – asking friends and family to support their mission in helping Capability Health & Human Services provide transformational services to all individuals facing a physical, mental, intellectual, or social limitation. Donors can contribute on behalf of a participant at CapabilityHealth.org/Movin-With-Capability.

If you or your business are interested in sponsoring “Movin’ with Capability” please reach out to Kayley Clifton at Kayley.clifton@capabilityhealth.org.

About Capability Health & Human Services

In 1976, the Southern Nevada Association for the Handicapped opened its doors under the direction of Barbara Bernabel, a mental health advocate, and Midge Becker, an advocate for individuals with disabilities. Over the years the name changed several times, but their commitment to the people they served never changed. In 2002, the organization entered a contract with Easter Seals, Inc. and by 2011 they increased their service area to provide services statewide. More recently, in 2019, they returned to their roots as a Nevada based organization and became Capability Health & Human Services.

With a committed and caring leadership team, occupational and physical therapists, speech pathologists, physicians, nurses, and other direct care staff, Capability Health & Human Services is dedicated to providing transformational and life-enhancing services to all individuals facing a physical, mental, intellectual, or social limitation. The organization does this through a wide variety of services including Early Intervention, pediatric services, and adult programming and employment training and placement.
